Ryūichi Sakamoto (坂本 龍一, January 17, 1952 - March 28, 2023), was a Japanese musician, composer, and actor. He is best known for co-founding the electronic music group Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978, as well as his music for various films, among those The Last Emperor (1987), for which he won an Academy Award and a Grammy Award. He also participated in video game music industry, producing the score of Tengai Makyō: Ziria (1989) and composing the soundtrack for L.O.L.: Lack of Love (2000).
