There are several men in the gaming industry named Phil Spencer.
This Phil Spencer has been with Microsoft since 1988, and joined its Microsoft/Xbox Game Studios label since its foundation in 2001. He has served as general manager for the EMEA region from 2001, general manager from 2008, and vice president from 2009.
In March 2014, he was positioned as Chief Product Officer for Xbox, Xbox Live, Xbox Music, and Microsoft Studios. In September 2017, he was promoted to the Senior Leadership Team as Executive Vice President of Gaming and answered directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as of that point. Since January 2022, he has been Microsoft's CEO of Gaming.
