Biography edit · view history

David started out in the game industry at the age of 16 when he worked sales at the now defunct UK game retail chain - Microbyte. For the past 20 years he has been in and out of the industry in a variety of roles. After Microbyte folded, David took a summer job as a QA Tester on the original NBA Jam for SNES, before spending time as a professional Thai Boxer and earning a Bachelors Degree in Psychology at the Manchester Metropolitan University.

After graduation David moved to the Far East where he became fluent in Mandarin Chinese which he used to get back into the games industry as Chinese to English translator on a number of MMO titles developed in Asia. During that time he was hired by Sony Online Entertainment to work on their "Everquest 2" adventure pack "The Fallen Dynasty" as a writer before becoming a Game Designer for their Free-to-Play MMO action game "Kung-Fu Hustle Online" which was released in Hong Kong and China in 2009.

After finishing up Kung-Fu Hustle David spent time at e:learning startup "ChineseCUBES" applying game design skills and picking up new skills in his role as User Experience Lead. Upon discovering the field of User Experience (UX) David came to believe that the games industry could benefit from the skills and design approaches employed by UX Designers and joined Crytek in 2012 where he has worked their GFACE platform and has contributed to a number of Crytek's game projects, most recently their mobile title "The Collectables".
