Diana Stelmack was a Networking Software Engineer for Red Storm in 2001.
Quoted from the Red Storm bio page:
Life Before Red Storm:
Like everyone else from Florida, I was born somewhere else. I spent my childhood and college years in Tampa, FL. I was always a nerd, but not a gamer until I met my husband, Greg. I was a Computer Science/Mathematics major at University of South Florida for what seemed to be forever. After graduation, I got married and started working for a Department of Defense contractor, E-Systems. Out of desperation to support his gaming habit, Greg introduced me to a game called Lemmings. After that, I was hooked and he had a better argument for his hardware addiction (his first 3DFX card was so I could play Tomb Raider and boy it looked cool). He still has to lobby his position for purchasing new hardware, but he thinks it's easier to get it past me (I don't intend to dispel with this illusion).
A year after we married, we re-located to Raleigh, NC. I worked as a contractor at IBM doing Internet Security protocol work, then left for greener pastures at Nortel. I worked at Nortel doing various network protocol work for telecommunications, starting in ISDN, progressing to Voice Over IP, and ending up in IP Network Management. Recently, for obvious reasons, I decided I had had enough of the Nortel life and knocked on Red Storm's door. The rest is history.
Life At Red Storm
Life at Red Storm includes, as you may have guessed, a lot of gaming. When I'm not programming a game, I am playing a game. It's amazing how fast the day flies by around here. This is probably the fastest pace I've ever worked at and it is awesome. This is also the most fun I've ever had testing my code. Who knew that testing your code in a multiplayer session could be this much fun...:)
Free Time
Obviously, I spend some of my free time playing games at home, some single player (Tomb Raider series is my fave) and some multiplayer with my hubby (currently, Diablo II Expansion Pack). When I am not on the computer, I enjoy gardening, cross-stitch, painting ceramics, and, of course, long walks on the beach at sunset.
