John Imah

John Imah is an award-winning entrepreneur who has worked with some of the world's biggest tech brands, celebrities and influencers. As of April 2019, serving as the Global Head of Game Partnerships at Snapchat, Imah oversees the social platforms gaming strategy and business development. Imah is the founder of Groomed (app), the Uber for barbers, and former co-founder of two startup companies, SYNC-CONCEPTS and SRSS-Rendering LLC, that were privately sold.

His influence in the technology industry as the only African American male has coined him the nickname the "Michael Jordan of Tech" and social media due to his vast knowledge across the industry.

Imah has been partnering with Aaron McGruder, creator of the popular boundaries pushing series Boondocks on a video game of the same name.

As an impact driven executive with experience gained since 2010 in strategic partnerships, business development and product management, Imah specializes in creating and defining strategies that align with core company objectives.

Before joining Snapchat in 2018, Imah served as the Global Head of Gaming at Facebook from 2016-2018 where he founded the Gaming Creators Community for like-minded gamers to connect, exchange ideas and collaborate around the games they loved on Facebook. The newfound medium also provided the opportunity for players to utilize the company's monetization products to earn money.

Earlier in his career in 2014, Imah gained experience at Amazon as Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development for Twitch, a live streaming video platform focusing on video games, eSports competitions and music broadcasts. The company was acquired by Amazon for $1 billion. While there, he led a team responsible for making Twitch more suitable for brands to use its platform for content creation. Resulting in partnerships with Nike, NFL, NBA, Turner Broadcasting, Viacom, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. Imah was also the executive producer and creator of "Madden NFL Live," an exclusive series on Twitch and the NFL network marketing to millennials and Gen X.

Imah led digital content campaigns and strategies for Take-Two Interactive Software, the makers of 2K games. From 2012-2014, he created 2K's production room, which led to the development of 2K TV, an in-game show for NBA 2K. Furthermore, with every game created, Imah produced its own live streaming marketing content that was then fed to fanbases of 24 conglomerate gaming franchises.

He was also known as "Samsung John," a brand representative on all social media channels, including Samsung's home page and marketing campaigns.
