Dr. Kjartan Pierre Emilsson has been Managing Director of CCP Asia since March 2006, but was previously Lead Game Designer at CCP since 2001, where he led the design as well as taking part in the programming of the massively multiplayer title called EVE Online, successfully launched in 2003.
Prior to this he was Chief Technical Officer for OZ.COM, an Internet communication and messaging company from 1995-2001 after having worked both in physics research and Internet communication technology at the Institut Non-Lineaire De Nice - Sophia Antipolis, the Arizona Center for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Arizona and the Science Institute of the University of Iceland.
He holds a Ph.D. degrees in Mathematical Physics from the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis, specializing in dynamical systems and pattern formation.
