Jason Anderson started as a contract artist for
Interplay working on
USCF Chess. In September of 1994, He was hired at Interplay as the first artist to be assigned to the then unnamed RPG
Fallout. Working closely with
Tim Cain, he helped design the isometric engine, game world and interface used in the game. He also assisted in designing the box layout and artwork for. Earning the title of technical art director and designer, Jason worked on
Fallout throughout its entire development cycle. In addition, Jason assisted as an artist on
Stonekeep and
Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy. After helping to complete the initial design for
Fallout 2, he left Interplay along with Tim and
Leonard Boyarsky to form
Troika Games in 1998, producing such RPGs as
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura and
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
When Troika went out of business in February 2005, no news was heard until March 2009, when
inXile announced that Anderson had been hired as Creative Director to work on a new RPG at the company.
