Last night (Saturday) I went to a music festival called 'One Night Stand' which is run by the Australia wide government radio station 'Triple J'. Once a year they run a show in a small country town somewhere in Australia and this year it was in Sale. Since it was so close to Melbourne (around 2 and a half hour drive) I thought I might go. Playing where Eskimo Joe, Butterfly Effect, Children Collide, Miami Horror, and Hilltop Hoods (They are all Australian bands so you may not of heard of them) and the show is completely free. But to cut a long story short the show was excellent especially Miami Horror and Hilltop Hoods (they know how to work the crowd), well worth the trip up and back. Check it out here

Back in the late 90s and early 00's (Or whatever we're calling this decade.) Cartoon Network used to play these music videos of old cartoons mixed into songs, or have old cartoons have new songs entirely. I recently rediscovered them and remembered why I loved them so much ! Here are my favorites:
Fantastic Plastic Machine Featuring Marvin Martian - Mars Forever.
Josie and the Pussycats - Musical Evolution.
And above all my favorite, Pain - Jabberjaw (Running Underwater).

DIMMU BORGIR DAMN YOU GET OUT OF MY HEAD
I cannot stop humming the one 5-second piece of music that is in 0:54-0:59 of that trailer. But seriously, it's an awesome song (or at least the portion of it that's used in the trailer. I checked on the net and it turns out the full tune consists mostly of some silly singing.)
(Also, the song is called "Blood Hunger Doctrine" and is from the album "Death Cult Armageddon". Sounds like they picked random spooky words from the dictionary to think up this stuff.)

Went to a concert on Friday night, because the headlining act was Muse. Vampire Weekend was pretty good (I'd never heard of them) and AFI was okay, rest of the bands sucked though. 30 Seconds to Mars was shit, their singer was almost comically full of himself...
It was completely worth going though just for Muse. They almost never play anywhere in the western US (I believe they rarely play in the States at all for political reasons), and being one of my favorite bands I'd wanted to see them play for years. It was amazing to finally get that opportunity.
My head's still spinning... :)
Edit: Just noticed above. Vampire Weekend played Cousins, and it was indeed catchy. I'm getting their album now 'cause of that show. :D
