Windows Patches

1997-11-07

v1.1 patch - new shortcut keys for sending messages in multiplayer, F4 or Spacebar will now bring up the scorecard in skirmish and multiplayer, type "+switchalt" in the message bar changes the squad select from alt(#1-9) to (#1-9), fixed the invisible unit bug, two modifications can be made to remedy sound problems or crashes relating to old or non-DirectX compatible sound card drivers, implemented a fix that allows different languages to play multiplayer against each other, tweaked AI so the enemy Commander is less likely to rush your base unless provoked, the difficulty settings for skirmish mode have been adjusted so that the differences between them are more distinct, fixed the NT sound bug, miscellaneous improvements

1997-11-14

v1.2 beta 1 patch (required for downloading official units) - crash outputs are now printed in the Taerrors.txt file, units will now properly attack their target until the target is destroyed if their standing orders are set to maneuver, the scorecard kill count now reflects the number of enemy commanders players have killed in multiplayer Deathmatch mode

1998-02-19

v2.01b patch - added AI opponents in multiplayer, the Battle Room now has an added team column, the AI will build any new units you have downloaded and installed on your machine, holding Shift while queuing up units to be built from a factory will now add 5 units per mouse click, there is a new option to have your units shoot all enemy units and structures (type +shootall in the chat box to toggle this command on and off), the AI has been further enhanced for skirmish mode, the ability for construction units to swap build menus has been eliminated, loading a unit in the process of self-destructing will no longer cancel the self-destruct order

1998-07-30

v3.1 patch - new hotkeys, enabled resource sharing in multiplayer, holding the Shift key now shows the pending construction or minimum cloaking radius of the selected unit, factories assigned to a squad will now produce units that will automatically be added to that squad, all missions can be selected from the campaign menu ("drdeath" cheat obsolete), features in user-made maps should no longer disappear, corrected ARM Phalanx reload time, AI pathfinding improvements

1998-08-04

v3.1 patch for non-Intel chipsets
