Description

A remake and expansion of the first NES/Famicom Fire Emblem, Marth must face the betrayal of Hardin and an old enemy he thought long vanquished, the Dragon King Medeus.

Book 1 of the game is essentially a remake of the first NES game. Book 2 continues the story with the same characters.

This game expands the series, however it drops explorable towns and the navigation through a world map which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Gaiden. New features include the ability to dismount the horse and pegasus mounted units, to allow the riders to fight indoors if needed.

Fire Emblem Makes Its Way To The Snes!

The Good
It is the 3rd game in the series. The game had 2 different stories to follow, namely Book 1 and Book 2. Book 1 was the reworked story of Marth, a prince from 1st Fire Emblem game, and Book 2 was the aftermath of the first game. Game had good graphics, unique gameplay and a decent story enabling an Strategy genre player to stick with it. It also introduced the dismounting of horses or pegasus for indoor fighting.

The Bad
The town exploration introduced in the 2nd Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Gaiden was removed. Also player should be very cautious while playing, as one wrong strategic turn can result into restarting the chapter or losing the characters.

The Bottom Line
A very good game of Strategy genre which combined some elements of RPG with it. If you are a fan of Fire Emblem series or looking for a decent Strategy game, then your search finishes here.
