Overview edit · view history

Intellivision Productions was formed by members of the "Blue Sky Rangers" original Intellivision development team in order to license and exploit the rights to the games for the Intellivision system - they currently have the rights to the Intellivision systems, and all game copyrights formerly held by Mattel Electronics and INTV Corp.

Their current publishing work involves emulation packages for various systems, including the PC; they also hope to eventually publish unreleased and/or new Intellivision games.

The Intellivision video game system was released by Mattel Electronics in 1980. Mattel's in-house programmers were given the name "Blue Sky Rangers" for publicity purposes, lest the programmers be hired away by other companies.

In January 1984, 2 weeks after the January CES, Mattel Electronics was shut down, and the rights to the Intellivision and games were purchased by INTV Corp., which was started by the former marketing VP of Mattel Electronics, Terry Valeski. Game development and publishing continued until INTV's bankruptcy in 1990, and the Intellivision rights were sold by Mr. Valeski to Ultimatte Corp. in 1997. Ultimatte then licensed all rights to Intellivision Productions.
