Sylvester Hesp was born in 1981 in The Netherlands, and became interested in computer programming when he was a 10-year-old. He started his professional game development experience during an internship at Engine Software in 2003, and a year after getting his Bachelor's degree in Informatics he joined Nixxes Software BV - a Dutch game technology company that worked closely together with Crystal Dynamics - in 2004. In 2021, Nixxes was acquired by Playstation Studios.
