We're so happy to see MobyGames contributors blast through some new milestones, and time to honor them here. (Thx to Cavalary/Karsa for the tips!)

Firstly, MAT gets an entire paragraph, because he just hit 100,000 MobyPoints - the 7th person in our history to do that! Congrats, & infinithanks to him...

In addition, Karsa Orlong is now officially in the all-time Top 10 for contributions, Picard just hit 30,000 total points, and Infernos just topped 10,000 and is now #80 overall. Please keep the amazing work coming...

And one final note, as spotted by Kabushi - MobyGames now has over 3 million individual 'lines' of credits, all entered by our amazing contributors! Wow.

Congratulations to everyone.

... though, speaking of that top 10, rather sad to see the 3rd and 9th users being inactive. Same goes for 11th, 12th (heh...), 13th, partially 14th (few points per year ever since 2009), 15th, 18th, 19th, few points over the past few years for 20th as well...

That's natural I quess. Misunderstandings, growing, burnout, lack of time, priorities change, disappointment ... LIFE. Nothing lasts forever.

Yeah, in some ways it's impressive that 80% of our Top 10 are still contributing, if you were to try the 'glass half full' version :)

Yet only 11 of the 21 with over 50k points, which also speaks of the potential replacement rate of major contributors.

(Me? Glass half full? Heh, not happening.)

Going by points strictly isn't the wisest thing to do though to judge major contributors by, as they obviously aren't balanced and favor certain types of contributions more than others (which is open to exploitation for those who care about such things).

Anyway, nice work everyone.

As the 14th placed person in question, for me it's a mix of things, mainly life and other priorities and interests. I'm not really into the current games and the older stuff on the main systems big in the UK is pretty heavily covered now. Not sure how we're going to get to 3500 Amiga games, almost everything I ever think of look up has been added.

Well, that's a good problem to have - we've already grabbed most of the obvious stuff :)

Under their statistics, Hall of Light has 5,671 games listed, so there are still a few games left undocumented.

Several hundred of those are unreleased titles, and they also count ECS/OCS and AGA versions as two different titles (also CDTV, CD32, etc.), and different language versions too, so the real number is quite a bit lower.

They mostly focus on commercial releases though, and don't have that many shareware and freeware releases. So there are many more Amiga games out there that they just aren't interested in.

What does a "line" of credit mean? One line contains how many developer names? I'm confused now ;))

2015 seems a good year for breaking 100K points... 2 out of 3 people already breached it. LG and I are now waiting for our buddy piltdown_man to join us :)

If Karsa were to follow his recent years in contribution, he'd make the fourth musketeer. Or he can take the next year's glory all for himself :)

Thank you all guys, for wonderful 15 years together. Now, let's make it up to 30 before my hair turns gray :P

You still have hair? ;))

Anyway, congrats, buddy! You were one of the first people I got friendly with on MG 14 years ago, and also one of the few I have met in real life :-) Your passion and dedication are something to behold. Keep up the great work :))

It's the number of entered names

Funny, I was sure I saw some new story about MAT leaving Moby. Either I've been seeing things or he must have changed his mind.

Yup, around November/December last year. But I got back... alas, only to find out some other good contributors like Joyvalley and Jotaro-Raido have left for good. But even while I "left", I gave my cover scans and shots to another MG user and a good friend who submitted them instead... for the sake of the database and historical documentation ;) My reason wasn't the site, but some of the users here, but then again, I guess that was everyone's reason for leaving. It's a pity since this site and what it represents is the core that all of us coming here have in common.
