How many of you think that Norway is the best country in the world to live in? I don't think that Norway is such a great country, and that is saying something from someone who is living in it.

I heard that you have extremely high salaries, and things are extremely expensive ;)

I never went there, but I've been in Denmark and Sweden, and I had a Norwegian colleague at the university. Played Grieg very well ;-)

Well, I don't know much about Norway, but I had this Norwegian colleague at high-school that came to live in Brazil 'cause his girlfriend was Brazilian. I suppose that Brazil isn't the best place in the world to live (and I'm not the one to judge since I never went out of its borders), but I think that guy is an example of how the best place to live is where you'll be happy.

...or rather, how the best place to live is where your woman is :-))

Doesn't look too bad, extremely expensive though. People in the north come over the border to buy stuff from Finland in hordes and this isn't exactly a cheap country either!

There's a massive amount of oil money stashed away and the government does some nice stuff to the people occasionally. And I heard health care is excellent.

[/Q --end Marko Poutiainen wrote--] Health care isn't all that great. We have to pay huge amounts of money, just to go to the doctor. And most of the time, the hospitals have no money to perform the operations needed on their patients. And we're supposed to be the richest country in the world. Yeah, right...

The cigarettes are too expensive but the girls are prettier than elsewhere. Can't say much good about infrastructure or cuisine, though.

Okay, sort of a random question dont you think?

Oh but come on guys we all know America is the greatest place in the world to live today, duh. ;-P

I would love to live in America, it's a great country with great people. I've only been in New York, but it was an unforgetable experience. Like visiting the capital of the world!

Of all the nations I've been to (and I've been to a lot), I felt the most at home in Singapore. Nutty, huh? Not that I don't like Uruguay, but as things are right now with the current government (which has successfully eradicated the middle class), the first chance I get I'm moving the hell away.

I personally wouldn't like living in the US, not permanently anyway, but living in Uruguay earning what I would earn in the US... hell yeah. =D

Singapore had too much people for my liking and all those "Do this" and "Don't do this" signs made me a bit paranoid.

USA, on the other hand, is OTT for my liking. It's hard to explain, but it's... hm, maybe it's the commercialism thing and the want to make everything bigger. "Bigger isn't always better" doesn't seem to apply. And I don't particularily like the car-centered way of life, either.

Seriously?, I have always thought that Norwegian girls were a fatter version of the Swedish ones. But well, being fat is a good thing in cold countries, XD

People, I'm from Norway, and it's a lot hotter than you think. The girls are hot, not fat, the weather's great, at least in the southern part, where I'm from. God damn its 25 degrees celsius in the water sometimes! my sister went to the US once with a friend and she told me that people at high school there thought Germany was the capital of Europe and that polar bears walked around on the streets of Norway. Seriously... a country like that should teach its children some WORLD history, not just american history.....

You would probably enjoy this. It's Rick Mercer walking around various parts of the United States asking Americans questions about Canada. Some of the responses are hiarious.

It is the best place on the planet, especially with genetics and environment --- you are full of poop --- you are just angry because you hate your parents and had to grow up there and feel disconnected ----- you are wrong and presenting information way out of context.
