Zero Gravity Pinball
Description
Zero Gravity Pinball is a 1-player pinball game designed for astronauts in space, thus has no concept of up nor down in game design.
The ball is initially released from the central portion of the screen. The board consists of a total of 10 paddles, 5 on each side of the screen. The player must use their controls to select which paddle they will use, and only one paddle can be used at a time. Paddles which are not selected are permeable to the ball, and will not prevent it from leaving the board. Some of the flippers will become temporarily inoperable as game play progresses, and can't be used for several seconds.
There are 4 out of bounds zones on the board, on the top, bottom, left, and right portions of the screen. The paddles can protect the lateral portions of the screen, and the player can temporarily erect a force-field on the top or bottom of the screen to prevent a ball from exiting there. As the force-field is temporary, and takes time to recharge, care must be taken to activate the shield just before a ball tries to exit.
On occasion, the central starting point will turn into a black hole, and balls can be lost there here. Points are awarded based upon the number of bounces their ball makes, and what items are hit. There are a total of 5 difficulty levels, with each progressive level having a faster moving ball. The player starts with a total of 5 balls, and when all are lost, it's game over.
