Description
Solitaire is a collection of single player card games. This collection is by Goodsol who went on to develop Pretty Good Solitaire and the seemingly ever-expanding Solitaire Master series.
This game contains fifty different solitaire games which are; Agnes Bernauer, Agnes Soler, Auld Lang Syne, Bakers Dozen, Beleagured Castle, Bisley, Black Hole, Bristol, Busy aces, Calculation, Canfield, Captive Queens, Carpet, Congress, Deuces,Doublets, Eagle Wing, Easthaven, Eight Off, Five Piles, Flower Garden, Fortune's Favor, Four Seasons, Fourteen Out, FreeCell, Gate, Golf, Klondike, Nestor, Odd and Even, One234, Osmosis, Patriarchs, Peek, Penguin, Pyramid, Russian Solitaire, Scorpion ,Simple Pairs, Sir Tommy, Spiderette, Stonewall, Streets and Alleys, Thirteens, Thumb and Pouch, Vertical, Westcliff, Whitehead, Will o the Wisp & Yukon.
While games can be selected from a straight list of the above they can also be viewed by type, the game groupings available are Klondike type; FreeCell type; 2 deck games; Simple Games; Open Games and Favorites - this last option being games the player has flagged as such while they were playing them. Once the player selects a game the game selection window closes and a new window opens with the chosen game, when the player exits this window the game selection window reappears
The game has a comprehensive help file which opens in a separate window and explains the rules for each game. The game is selected at random from 214783647 possible deals but the player has the option of selecting a specific deal should they so wish.
The game keeps separate statistics for each registered player, has undo & redo options, allows each player to set their own background colour and card back as well as having a save game feature, called a snapshot, which allows the player to restart a game at a particular point.
