Planet Bounce
Description official description
Planet Bounce is a freeware, keyboard controlled space shooter game for up to four players.
In this game the player has a few basic controls, they can rotate left/right, they can fire their gun or one of the special bonus weapons and that's about it. There is no direct control over the speed of their ship which is always on the move. Steering their ship around the screen is done by bouncing off planets, hence the name, with the angle the ship strikes the planet determining the speed and direction it moves off.
This is a fixed-screen game. Player's ships launch from mother ships on either side of the screen, planets are conquered by bouncing into them which causes them to change colour while opponents ships are destroyed by shooting them.
By completing levels the player(s) earn money and progress through the ranks. The money earned can be spent on upgrading their ship. There are three game modes;* Campaign Mode: This has four chapters and twenty-nine levels some of which are tutorial levels. There is a 'Grand Finale' level shown on the menu but this is not yet available (version 5.01). The levels must be played in order but once completed they can be replayed.
- Quick Game mode: This has three variants, each variant has multiple maps
- Steal: Where the player conquers planets and kills enemies
- Take: Where the player conquers planets
- Strike: where the player kills their enemies to win* Armada: This is shown in the game's menu (version 5.01) but is not yet available. It has the same three variants as the Quick Game mode plus an Attack variant
The game has optional music and sound effects and only plays in full screen mode

Average score: 3.8 out of 5 (based on 1 ratings)
The Good
- Completely free
- Quick space combat matches
- 29 Single player scenarios
- Hundreds of upgrades
- Interesting story about blowing up aliens
The Bad
The game has very unique dynamics so a bit of a learning curve.
Really my only complaint is that there is no online matchmaking. I unfortunately often can't find a friend interested so having an online option would be great.
The Bottom Line
Fun space shooter. Unique game play of bouncing off planets. Well designed. Free!
