Description official description

FBI Hostage Rescue is very similar to Rainbow Six Series. You play as member of a highly trained team - your mission is to save all the hostages and terminate all the terrorists.

You have 10 levels/missions to play before winning. In each level you have a timer attached to it (if the timer goes down to zero, the hostages will die by the terrorists - and you lose). To complete each mission you must return all the hostages to one of the rescue points.

Multiplayer is unavailable. You also don't have difficulty settings.

An unplayable, kiddish mess.

The Good
Nothing that's worth mentioning; the graphics and sound aren't bad, but there's nothing really good about this game.

The Bad
The hostages just sit there and do nothing, making them impossible to rescue (thus making the game impossible to play). When they actually do something, they act brain-dead and walk through walls, "fly" through the air, etc. and then just sit there again. Making matters worse, you have to complete each level within 5 minutes, or else a bomb will explode and everyone in the building will be killed. With hostage AI that's this bad, such a time limit makes the game even more impossible to play. The enemy AI isn't much different; they also sit there and do nothing, and when they actually do something, they act in the same brain-dead way as the hostages. There are no adjustable difficulty settings, and the frustrating aiming system moves way too fast for you to really be able to shoot at the terrorists. Like I said, since the terrorists sit there and do nothing, you don't really need to bother trying to aim at the terrorists, let alone shoot at them.

The Bottom Line
Even if you've always wanted to work at the FBI to hunt down terrorists, don't play this game. It's truly awful on all accounts, and with so many technical problems that cripple the gameplay, it has almost no value to the consumer. If you want a good terrorist-hunting game, play Half-Life: Counter-Strike. Or, if you don't have the Internet, play Soldier of Fortune. Either way, you'll have a better time than with this unplayable crap.
