Vem vill bli miljonär
Description
Vem vill bli miljonär is the first interactive DVD game in the 'Who wants to be a millionaire' franchise.
The DVD version shares the cover graphics of the first PC/console game versions, but differs a bit in the gameplay; e.g. there is no highscore kept since a DVD player cannot save results from earlier sessions, but instead there are more video clips to enhance the game experience. The game starts with the selection of the number of players; 1-4, and a short intro video showing the audience sitting around the central empty seat.
This version does not have a visible game host, but video clips of a live audience are used when it is called upon to suggest an answer to a question, and there are also image/sound clips in the 'call a friend' choices - when calling a friend, the player is given a choice of three people with different knowledge and background listed, which can affect the likelyhood of a correct suggestion. There is no time limit that requires an answer before it runs out.
There are two safety levels at 10.000 and 100.000, and 15 questions to the maximum sum of 3 Million (virtual) SEK. Three lifelines are available per game: 50:50, 'ask the audience' and 'ask a friend'. If a player manages to answer all questions correctly and win the virtual millions, they are shown a code that lets them participate in a real competition via a one-time mail-in coupon for a vacation trip for four persons to Spain, visiting the Universal Studios Mediterranea resort. This coupon was only available in the DVD release of the game, and the competition ended in mid 2005.
Once the gameplay is finished by winning or losing, the game starts a new session, asking for the number of players again.
