Played the demo. Interesting but not special enough to buy
The Good
This is a pleasant 3D puzzle game in which the player has to find a route from the start through to the end to complete the level. Nothing groundbreaking there, it's been done before and it's done quite well here too. The puzzles I played in the demo became progressively more complex as they introduced switches, lifts, deathtraps and swings. It felt like a well thought out, well designed progression.
The Bad
The player controls the titular character with the mouse but the controls are unusual as the player has to click and drag to move the character around the path one cell at a time. This works but it takes a bit to get used to it and it does slow down the speed at which the game can be played.
Though the puzzles themselves felt well thought out they did begin to feel a bit samey. The player has no exploring to do - there is one path and it is impossible to stray from it - so ultimately all puzzles boil down to triggering the switches in the right order and timing movements to avoid traps.
Both of the above are minor niggles that can be overlooked, however the biggest problem for me is that the game only plays in full screen mode with all the action confined to a narrow strip in the centre of my screen, leaving acres of black space on either side.
The Bottom Line
This is not a bad game. I played through the demo version and quite enjoyed it but it did not appeal to me enough to make me want to part with any cash.
