Description
Space War is a 1-player arcade game for the TRS-80 CoCo.
The player controls a small spaceship that can move in all directions, and also swivel its turret to fire in any direction. The ship is also armed with a limited cloaking device, which temporarily makes the ship invincible. The goal is to destroy the Death Star, which is protected by invisible Space Mines. When the player approaches a mine, it becomes visible, and follows and fires upon the player. The Death Star has a rotating shield with a small gap. When the shield is shot, it temporarily stops rotating, and if the player hits the base inside, it is destroyed. The gravitational pull of the black hole provides a constant danger to the player, and a large meteor constantly zooms about the screen. There are 16 levels of difficulty. The player scores a new ship every 1000 points, and the difficulty level is raised.
