Jetmen Revival

Jetmen Revival is capture the flag for two players, it is a cave-flyer game and it is played in side-by-side split screen mode. When a level is small enough it will be played with both players on a non-scrolling single screen.

The game starts with each player in their own base with a flag. The player's space ships can rotate and thrust, flying around the caves with physics and inertia. The goal of the game is to capture the enemy flag and fly it back to your own base, while preventing the enemy from doing the same thing. Fly close enough to the enemy flag and the ship will pick it up and start dragging it, similar to the orb in Thrust.

Before each game, the players can both select a primary and secondary weapon. There are six different primary and six secondary weapons to choose from, such as shotgun, laser and heat-seeking rockets. More weapons will be unlocked by ranking up your pilot. If a ship is carrying the enemy flag when it's shot down, a jetpack pilot will continue with the flag. It is possible to score with just the jetpack pilot, but he can also be shot leaving some bloody particles and a bit splat.

The game uses pixel particle effects for the weapons and the rocket exhaust. Levels can also contain particle spawning areas that affect the gameplay, such as water, snow, glue or ants, each with different properties. For example falling snow will start to pile up, spraying water can push the ships and flood parts of the level, slowly creating pools which the rockets can dive through.

Additional levels, ships and flags can be created by creating or editing bitmap files in the game's program folder.
