Play Your Cards Right
- Play Your Cards Right (1986 on Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC)
Description
Play Your Cards Right was a popular UK TV show that ran from 1980 to 1987. It has since been revived twice, first in 1994 when it ran until1999 and once more from 2002 to 2003.
This game has both single player and two formats, in the single player game the player plays against the DVD.
To start the multiplayer game one player must gain control of the game. This is done by asking a question of the form "We asked 100 fishermen if they ever lied about the size of their catch". Player one has to guess what percentage said 'Yes" and player two then says whether they think the true answer is higher or lower than that figure. The winner of that mini game then takes control of the main board.
The main board uses playing cards and the player in control guesses whether the next card to be revealed will be higher or lower than the last card shown. They continue guessing until they make a mistake, in which case the other player takes control, or they cannot be sure of the answer in which case there is another question round.
After three rounds of the game both players proceed to the final round. This is played just the same as the previous rounds however both players have a cash stake which they can gamble on the turn of the cards. The winner is the player with the most cash at the end of the game.
