5 Responses Game

The 5 Responses Game is an educational title that aims to promote calm by using specific gestures and responses to balance personal energies.

The main menu has an an Introduction and three Meditations, these four options show the same basic chart with some changes to the labelling while a disembodied voice reads the appropriate text for the guided meditations.

• In the Introduction, the Five Responses are labelled: Back Up Response, Up Front Response, Back Down Response, Down Front Response and Neutral Response.
• In Meditation One the responses are called Postures, so we have Back Up Posture, Up Front Posture etc.
• Meditation Two uses the same labelling as Meditation One, but now links an emotion to each posture: Expansiveness (Back Up Posture), Happiness (Up Front Posture), Sadness (Back Down Posture), Holding On (Down Front Posture), and Neutrality (Neutral Posture).
• Meditation Three swaps the emotions of Meditation Two for Tai Chi animals: Crane (Back Up Posture), Tiger (Up Front Posture), Dragon (Back Down Posture), Holding On (Down Front Tree), and Guardian (Neutral Posture).

All of the above menu options trigger the reading of a prepared text, the voice always starts from the beginning of the text and there is no option to pause. Other menu options include;

• Original: This explains the Japanese system upon which this form of meditation is based.
• Options: This changes the text in the Exercises section, see below.
• 9 Responses Exercises: In addition to the basic Five Responses, there are four additional responses: Left, Right, Environmental and Other, making nine responses in total. Here a 3D model takes on the various poses while the accompanying text and voice explains either the Technique, Benefits, Wealth, or Elements of the pose depending on the option selected above. The idea here is that the player will adopt these poses along with the model.
• 9 Responses Game: Here the model adopts various poses which the player has to identify. A point is scored for each correct answer.
