The game starts with this load screen, at one point a deep bass voice announces the title
thumbnail
The game's menu. The EXTRAS option just says that those features are only present in the Collector's Edition. The MORE GAMES option provides links to Big Fish Games store pages that no longer work
thumbnail
The game's configuration options
thumbnail
The links to the Big Fish Games store pages no longer work though the games I checked are still available on the website
thumbnail
The HELP option on the main menu opens this window
thumbnail
The game's difficulty settings. Once an option has been selected a small help window pops up to say that the difficulty settings can be changed while playing the game
thumbnail
The game has a short slideshow-style introduction which ends when mother and daughter enter the school
thumbnail
Enter the witch! The story begins here
thumbnail
Optional interactive help is available at the start of the game
thumbnail
Two stories unfold as the game progresses. In the lower left is a notebook which records the story as it unfolds, in the lower right is the witch's spell book to which pages are added as the yare found in the game
thumbnail
There is an in-game map and, in some locations, I had to scroll sideways because they were so big. There is no fast travel feature though.
thumbnail
The game has lots of possessed plants and they all have a bit of an attitude problem
thumbnail
There are bits of FMV type acting in the game.
thumbnail
Puzzles are all explained clearly
thumbnail
Be sure to check pictures for Mystic Energy
thumbnail
The HINT button becomes a SKIP option when attempting to solve puzzles
thumbnail
Occasionally spirits pop up and have a chat. Sometimes they leave something useful
thumbnail
If it's not locks with missing keys it's missing combinations
thumbnail
This is the school's hallway. At present I cannot go upstairs because the evil fog is there. Plant branches and roots are everywhere, a nice touch is that all the little eyes track the cursor
thumbnail
This puzzle has to be played a few times before it can be beaten
thumbnail
A combination of a circuit puzzle and a sliding block puzzle
thumbnail
There is no fast travel option via the game's map but sometimes after I had solved a puzzle one of the captured spirits pops up and creates a portal to where I needed to be next
thumbnail
Credit to the witch, I really liked her voice acting
thumbnail
I did come across a couple of dead bodies so perhaps this is not a game for the very young
thumbnail
I had to skip this puzzle. As the pieces moved to a new position they seemed to change slightly.
