Manor of Doom
Description
As the player dares to enter the grounds of the infamous manor house perched high on a series of hills, the large iron gates slam shut behind him. The adventure starts on a long and daunting driveway which makes it way slowly but surely up to the solid oak front door of the lifeless manor house, but appearances can be deceptive. After hearing rumors of "There's gold in those hills!" the player wants to prove them right.
Manor of Doom is a text adventure game where the player inputs all actions via verb-noun commands with the keyboard to interact with the surroundings, such as "OPEN CUPBOARD". To navigate through the locations in the game use "(N)ORTH", "(S)OUTH", "(E)AST", "(W)EST", "(U)P" and "(D)OWN".
All the objects that can be clearly seen at the present location will be described at the bottom of the location description. All objects colored in either red or blue are objects that can be taken and utilized within the adventure, the ones which are not, are objects that can only be utilized within the adventure, eg. a door.
The command "EXAMINE" makes it possible to look at objects whilst "TAKE" and "DROP" can be used to manipulate them. The player can only carry up to two items. "(I)NVENTORY" will list the objects the player is carrying.
The progress in the adventure can be called up by typing "SCORE" and will give a percentage of the amounts of locations covered and tasks completed.
"SAVE" to save current game progress, "LOAD" to load a saved game, and "QUIT" aborts the current game.
