Jinsei Game for Nintendo Switch
Description official description
Jinsei Game for Nintendo Switch is an electronic adaptation of the board game called Jinsei Game, which itself is the Japanese version of the board game called The Game of Life in North America. It supports up to 4 players. The goal of the game is to live the most successful life out of all the other players. The game starts in childhood, and then progresses through school, college, careers, retiring, and finally reaching the end goal, at which point the players' scores are tallied and a winner is decided.
Players create an avatar and take turns spinning a roulette to move their piece around the board. Landing on certain spaces trigger certain random life events, which may involve the player making a decision to effect the outcome. These spaces may alter the player's attributes, careers, or relationships with potential romantic partners. Successful outcomes on a space is determined by a player's stats, decisions, and random chance. When moving around the board, players will often run into forks in the road, in which they must choose whether to focus on their careers or their love life. Advancing in their careers can result in more earnings, depending on a player's stats, whereas a successful relationship can result in the player starting families, who then share their earnings with the player. At the end of the game, the players' net worth is calculated and the player with the most money wins. Various achievements are also given out at this time, which award players money for completing certain life goals throughout the game or for collecting certain treasures.
This version of the game also contains a "board game as-is" mode, which allows players to play the 2016 version of the game. This version is simpler, and more true to the real-life version of the game, without as much of the electronic components and presentation of the new version. Players can also choose childhood-only or adult-only modes, if they only want to play one phase of the game for half the play time.
