Kaitō Saint Tail
- Kaitō Saint Tail (1996 on Game Gear)
Description
Kaitō Saint Tail is an RPG-style adventure game based on the manga and anime series of the same title created by Megumi Tachikawa. It follows the exploits of middle-schooler Meimi Haneoka, secretly also the master thief and vigilante Saint Tail, who steals illegitimately stolen items to return them to their rightful owners.
Gameplay is generally split between top-down exploration sections, visual-novel style dialogue sections, and various mini-games such as a falling-block puzzle game. While the exploration sections resemble a traditional Japanese-style RPG, there is no combat or experience points and limited use of items and money. Most of the gameplay consists of exploring the town and talking to other characters; major scenes will switch to a more detailed visual-novel style view that includes illustrations of the characters, with important scenes getting full-screen illustrations. During school events or in place of battle, various mini-games appear, with progression tied to successfully defeating the opponent.
