Gray Zone Warfare

Description official description

Gray Zone Warfare is a tactical shooter in a modern setting, in an unnamed Asian island where AI controlled bots are fighting with three human mercenary factions in close-quarter battles around the island towns. The overall story revolves around the control of a small fictional country - The Democratic Republic of Lamang.

Multiple human teams of up to four players each can take part in a p-v-p-v-e type struggle similar to a looter shooter, where the teams are inserted with Little Bird helicopters close to a target area, with tasks to clear out the AI bots from predefined locations and buildings. The pvp or pve mode is selected by joining different servers. There are no player tags, and friendly fire is possible, so there is a risk of attacking teammates instead of enemies, this is also increased since players uniforms vary according to personalised outfits.

The players are then required to eliminate and then also loot the bodies of the AI bots in order to get something to trade for more useful items at the home base. Loot may include weapons, ammunition (varies for different weapon types) and any other items that can be carried.

In the base area there are three vendors that handles different things, various equipment, weapons and supplies (food, medical supplies), and can take loot as trade-ins, and give out missions which make up the story sequence of the game.

When the task is completed, the players can call for pickup by helicopter, and when back at the home base, they can trade unwanted loot for things like medical supplies, food, backpacks, weapons and ammunition suitable for the weapons they use.

When out on a looting-raid, the player can be wounded by the enemies (or other players) and need to carry and use various medical equipment and medicine to heal themselves. When hurt, a player slows down, has blurred vision, slowly bleeds out and may fall into a coma, requiring assistance from their teammates.

Starting a new game requires a player to register with one of the three human factions, which means they can only team up with others in the same faction. Each faction has a separate home-base on the island, which is where the player re-equips and takes on new tasks. Changing factions in the Early Access phase was initially limited to once every three months, and the alignments will also be reset every six months. The player character can now be manually reset, in order to change factions.

If a player gets killed, the body will be available with all it's equipment for recovery, if possible - but only from the last death; getting killed again before recovering the previous body will remove the body and its equipment from the map. Other factions players can loot your body only in a pvp server.
