Description
Adapted from the venerable British quiz show, Mastermind allows you to become a contestant on that program, competing against up to three others. You face two rounds of questions; the first round will see you answering a set of questions based on specialized field of your choice, while in the second round you must answer a set of general knowledge questions. Both rounds have a time limit of 2 minutes. Any question may be passed (skipped), so that you may answer more questions in the allotted time.
The person who gets the most questions right wins the contest. If a tie occurs, the person with the most passes is the loser in the contest. If a tie occurs between two players with an equal number of passes, the contestants must answer a set of five questions - all five questions being the same between contestants - as a tie breaker.
The host of the Mastermind game is (the now-late) Magnus Magnusson, who also hosted the real life Mastermind program for its entire first run from 1972 to 1997. If you run out of time in a round while he is posing a question to you, he'll state Masterminds’ "I've started so I'll finish," catchphrase that he coined during the course of the program, finishing up the question and allowing you to answer it.
Mastermind sports over 5,000 questions to answer, and has 50 groups of specialized questions.
