Last Half of Darkness: Shadows of the Servants

Dr. Muretta, a scientist, brought back an infected monkey to her New Orleans estate. The monkey, named Jaja and intended as a pet for her two daughters, was bitten by creatures in an ancient temple in an uncharted part of a rainforest. The monkey turned vicious over time, and its evil spirit arose to terrorize the family. The player has been summoned to rid the estate of the darkness once and for all.

Shadows of the Servants is an adventure game played in first person. The main objective is to uncover the ingredients needed to destroy the evil still present in the house, and then use them at the right time and place. To keep the evil spirits from finding and destroying those items, Mira, one of the doctor's daughters, has hidden them in various places. She left behind clues to the locations in the guise of puzzles and cryptic passages in notes and books.

In addition to the house and its attic, secret passageways and cellars, explore a graveyard, a crypt, a swamp and a small portion of the nearby town. The atmosphere, graphics, music and sound effects are all intentionally designed to startle and scare the player.

There are several jigsaw puzzles, a match-three game, and other types of puzzles to be solved. The player's inventory is hidden at the bottom of the screen. Each inventory object has a description and can be examined closer by right clicking on it. Some objects can be used with each other and some are actual puzzles. To use an object in the gameplay screen, select it and the cursor will change to become that item. The correct hot spot can be found when the item wiggles.
