Universal Word Search

Every day, a new interlocking 2D 21x21 grid of letters is published by newspapers licensing this word search game from the Universal Press Syndicate, and online resources can license a grid containing the same words in a similar fashion. The automated online version boasts "regular" and "master" modes, the latter of which doesn't display the list of target words contained in the grid, words which can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally and all pertain thematically to a daily subject. Dragging the mouse along a word's length then releasing a mouse click will indicate to the computer that the player wants to "encircle" a word and compare it against the target words on the list.

Further play options and features include a timer which can be paused, single-word hints via the "find" button, completion of the whole search by the "solve puzzle" button, and getting the computer to generate a whole new puzzle using the same words by selecting "scramble".
