Sled Storm (2002 on PlayStation 2)
Description official description
Sled Storm is a racing game involving racing a snowmobile around fourteen tracks. Race on mountain tracks or in the snowcross, the game's version of a motocross. There are six characters each with different attributes, such as better speed on their snowmobiles or higher success rate at tricks. It is possible to perform many different tricks and use them together in combos. The tracks have many shortcuts and branching paths, allowing players to take alternative routes. Cash can be earned from victories and spent on upgrading the sled.

Trivia
Development history
The game went through several name changes during development before settling on Sled Storm. It started out as Alpine Rally: Nature Attacks - a title meant to convey what was then the crux of this racing game: bears, avalanches, falling trees and other natural hazards that the player would have to dodge when racing. Soon, Nature Attacks was dropped when that aspect of the game was axed. After more than 6 months with this moniker, the product's name was changed to Super SnowCross as SnowCross was the burgeoning sport of snowmobile racing. "Super" had already been appended to the sport of Motocross, so the reasoning was that it would eventually be applied to SnowCross too and the game would already be there with an appropriate name. Ironically, the short form of the Super SnowCross name was "SSX" - an abbreviation used throughout the studio to refer to the product during this time period. Boardercross - a snowboarding game being developed inside the studio at the same time - would eventually rename itself to SSX after the snowmobiling product was renamed Sled Storm.
