La La Land
Description
La La Land is the first title in a series of experimental games where the communication between the player and the game is rendered abstract. It is a short, surreal tale about a recurring character in the series, blending seemingly familiar game mechanics, and generally a haunting atmosphere and soundscape together. The game looks as if it was randomly thrown together with the least amount of effort, but this is done deliberately. Players need to break through the surface and leave behind conventions to discover the story where many thoughts and morals are hinted at.
The first game consists of different sections, of which the first one is about a naked man and woman. When it has been completed, the character enters a distorted world with chanting music where a number keeps adding up. Meanwhile, through the debris covering the screen, it is possible to move around.
