Barnyard Blast is a 2D side-scrolling platform game in the "run and gun"-vein. Controls are primarily with the D-pad and buttons. The action takes place entirely on the top screen, though weapon and ability switching are on the bottom screen.

Story: Young piglet Cliffy Belmart is stolen away by the castle of darkness. It is up to his father, Robert Belmart, to shoot, whip, and otherwise demolish the forces of evil in order to find his wayward son.
