Rise of Prussia est dans la lignée des succès précédents du fameurx moteur AGE de jeu de stratégie historique, notamment Birth of America, American Civil War, Napoleon's Campaigns et Wars in America 1750-1815. Ce jeu de stratégie couvre l’ensemble de la Guerre de Sept Ans (1757-1763) en Europe, à l’époque du fameux Frédéric II Le Grand, et qui fait s’opposer la Prusse et ses alliés à la Coalition dirigée par l’Autriche, la France, la Russie, la Suède et le Saint-Empire.
