The Need for "Need for Speed"...

The Good
Hmmm... well, it worked on my WinXP machine. And the uninstallation routine worked perfectly :)

The Bad
At first, I was happy about a new "Need for Speed" as EA made the original game from a really fun racing game to another lame excuse for too much advertisements in games. And racing with tuning cars sounded fun. So I took it from our store and tested it for some hours (as I do work in a game store, that's no problem for me :).

Well, what can I say? The graphics lack... uhm... yeah, detail! In NFS, even in the old ones, they were more details in one single track than in all tracks of SSC together. Everything looks flat and it seems the map designers didn't really want to do it. Even the textures look unrealistic and dull. The sound is nothing we need to mention and the engine sounds don't convince my either. The car physics were almost the same for every car, even if the car's statistics differed a lot.

The Bottom Line
You want a racing game with fun cars, fun tracks and atmosphere? Yes? Don't buy SSC - try to get Need for Speed 3 or 4! Yeah, they are old, but even so, they are A LOT better than SSC!
