1K ZX Chess
Description official description
1K ZX Chess is a single-player chess game. Certain rules are omitted (castling, en passant capture, pawn promotion), as the code fits under one kilobyte (hence the title). The computer plays White with either of the two opening moves included.

Trivia
Record
For over 30 years this program held the record of the smallest playable computer chess program (with 672 bytes). In 2015 this record was broken by Red Sectors program BootChess, which only required 487 bytes for a basic chess program including computer opponent.
