ir/rational Redux
Description
ir/rational Redux is a revamped version of ir/rational, a short text adventure written and programmed by Tom Jubert.
The protagonist is trapped in a small, doorless room with a seemingly sentient machine that claims to have the mission to test his problem solving ability, by making him fill in the blanks in a series of sentences. These challenges are actually true propositional calculus, although the math is hidden by presenting them as logical arguments.
As stated in the introductory screen, the goal of the game is not finding the right answer for each argument, but rather understanding why that answer is right. Basically, by completing the game the player completes an introductory course in academic philosophy.
