Zookeeper Battle
Description official descriptions
Zookeeper Battle is an online-focused multiplayer version of the original Zoo Keeper and it nearly entirely borrows its namesakes single-player quest modes. Some event battles and practice occur with an NPC, and here they are replaced with online puzzle duels.
The game uses a battle system where the player's score in the puzzle translates to an attack and defense value. After playing a thirty second puzzle (the player's animal avatar attacks the opponent based on their puzzle score and vice versa), attacks start out as thrown rocks and escalate to discharged electricity with a high enough score. If a player does not run out of hit points at the end of five rounds the player with the highest health total wins.
The basic gameplay is that of a matching game. The player's screen is filled with colored tiles depicting animals (both players have the same board setup). By matching three types of animals, horizontally and vertically, the player will clear them from the field and the tiles above them will fall to fill their place, with new tiles coming in from the top of the field to fill in for those tiles. Tiles can be swapped horizontally or vertically with adjacent tiles to create the matching sets. The player can create combos and bonuses by either clearing more than three of a kind in one match or by causing falling tiles to match. Sometimes items that hamper the opponent or aid the player appear next to the beasts and can be grabbed by tapping them. Different animal tiles will give the player attack or defense points for the battle portion:
Attack:* Panda
- Orangutan
- Crocodile
- Lion
- Giraffe
Defense:* Hippopotamus
- Elephant
Events are created and sent to the game that allow for unlocking hidden content. Some of these events are based around climbing the global score tables, others involve NPC opponents that are shuffled into the random opponent finder. Opponents on Android systems can only be selected randomly and globally. The game only allows for two matches before a five minute cool down period begins. This can be avoided by purchasing "power bottles" from an online store to refill your plays immediately. Other premium items can be purchased in limited quantities, most of which deal with removing the consequences of opponents' detrimental items.
