StackBlitz

StackBlitz is one of a package of games produced by The Code Zone. Games from this package were used, in various combinations, in around twenty different game compilation packages.

StackBlitz is a single-player, falling block strategy game where the object is to achieve a high score. In this member of the genre the player is always presented with either a bomb or a column of three pieces. The object is to place the pieces in such a way as to line up three or more of the same colour horizontally, vertically or diagonally. This causes them to explode and scores the player points.

Bombs, when they are presented, can eliminate either a single piece, all pieces which match the colour of the piece they make contact with, or an entire column.

The game is, by default, controlled via the arrow keys which move the column left / right and rotate the order of the pieces, but the action keys can be redefined and joystick support is also available. It is played in a window which cannot be re-sized. The game has sound, different backgrounds and types of piece, a high score screen and in-game help screens.
