Grand Theft Auto V
Trivia
Real-world replica of Bravado Banshee
The Bravado Banshee, the in-game unlicensed imitation of a Dodge Viper, was built as a real car from a Dodge Viper by West Coast Customs. Both the interior and the exterior were modelled on the in-game vehicle, the new custom body assembled by hands, a powerful multi-channel audio system was also added. The total value of customizations reached about $200.000. The car was awarded by GameStop in 2013, as part of their PowerUp Rewards giveaway. As late as March 2015, it's been sold by its owners 3 times, due to the hardly affordable upkeep.
Usage outside the game
The virtual band Gorillaz used Grand Theft Auto V footage for the official music video for their 2020 single The Valley of the Pagans. The game was modified to feature a car similar to the one from the 2010 single Stylo, with the band driving through the city before being pulled into a portal into the Plastic Beach, the setting of the videos for their third studio album. On 2D's phone, the featured artist Beck is shown via the iFruit app.
Very shortly after premiering on YouTube, the video was pulled without an official reason given. On 9 March 2021, a completely new version of the video was made without GTAV footage, but the thumbnail was not changed.
