Bōkyaku no Senritsu

Bōkyaku no Senritsu is an action-adventure game based on the anime with the same name. While the game was not released outside of Japan, western localization of anime is also known as The Melody of Oblivion. After the opening movie, you get to select on of the three characters to start the game with. The characters available for selection are Bokka (ボッカ), Toone (遠音), and Coco (ココ). Each of the characters feature different story lines and clearing them all unlocks a bonus scenario.

The game consists of stages at the end of which is a boss fight. Adventure part of the game works as a visual-novel and progresses the story. Action parts of the game play in top-down perspective where you walk with your characters through the open world and fight the monsters and creatures along your path. If your HP reaches zero, you will be prompted to continue which will restart the current stage you are on from the beginning. Your basic set of attack is close combat swinging, arrow shooting or special power strikes. You can also pick up items to replenish your health or strength bar.

Option menu lets you check quite a few bonus materials. You can listen to background music from the stages you have cleared, you can check anime movies, events from the story parts you have passed, and character graphic from the characters you met so far. The game also lets you choose between three difficulty settings: easy, normal, or hard.
