Pokémon Snap Station
Description official description
Pokémon Snap Station is a special cabinet made by Nintendo. Inside is a Nintendo 64 with a game pak containing a special version of Pokémon Snap, as well as a printer. The special cartridge could be played like the normal game, but had an added print feature that could be used to print pictures taken during gameplay. The cabinet also featured a second cartridge slot so that players could bring in their copy of Pokémon Snap and print the pictures they had taken at home. Players had to purchase Pokémon Smart Cards (similar to credit cards or gift cards) containing funds to print.
The Stations were found at Blockbuster Video stores in the United States, Lawson stores in Japan, and Toys "R" Us and MYER stores in Australia. In the United States, Nintendo eventually pulled the Stations out of stores, only to send them back slightly rebranded, containing a special version of Pokémon Stadium. The same printing functions applied to Pokémon Stadium. Players could print 4 sets of 4 pictures for both games, and for Pokémon Stadium, 16 different pictures per sheet. Pictures are printed as stickers. Each sheet cost $3 USD. The promotion lasted around a year.
