A Day in San Bavón
Description
A Day in San Bavón is a hyperfiction game created for the sixth issue of the Indie Developer Science Fair. It is set in the same universe as the then upcoming game Sunset and acts as a prequel to the game. It offers players a glimpse of the atmosphere of the developer's fictional version of 1972's Latin America's Anchuria ruled by the dictator Generalísimo Ricardo Miraflores.
At the start of the game one of five characters is chosen (a diplomat, a writer, a tram driver, a factor worker and a police officer) and only the first two are available at the start. The player needs to progress through the narrative as the lives of the different characters intertwine. At certain points a character or an object such as a radio is highlighted. When clicked the story advances from that perspective. At all times it is possible to return and continue from an earlier perspective to view the different outcomes. The game is meant to be replayed multiple times with the different characters to experience the full story.
