Sunken Treasure
- Sunken Treasure (1983 on TRS-80)
Description
Sunken Treasure is a single player, mouse controlled puzzle game.
This game is played in a hexagonal grid representing the sea and scattered islands, there is a different map for each level. Hidden somewhere within that grid are five strings of gems each five cells long which the player has to find.
The player searches the grid using their sonar which expands outwards from the cell they click on until it contacts a hidden gem, the gem is now known to be somewhere on the outer shell of the sonar ring so the player uses their sonar from another spot and where they intersect should be the location of a gem.
Each use of the sonar counts as one turn and turns are limited, while successfully clicking on a gem does not count as a turn.
The game has a high score table and when it was released it was possible for players to compete with other players by uploading their scores to an on-line Hall of Fame. In 2015 the site which supported this feature is no longer active.
