Obliteracers
Description official description
Obliteracers is a bright, arcade racing game where reaching the finish line is not a game element. Rather, it is a party game for up to sixteen players, both local and online, all racing with an exotic character and vehicle on the same screen. The game has twelve maps and different modes where the racers use power-ups to fight each other, shove each other off the track, or attempt to gain enough speed so an opponent disappears from the bottom of the screen. The action takes place on the same screen for all players involved, so racers are always together on the same part of the track. When someone is eliminated or disappears from the bottom of the screen, the racer either respawns or returns in the next round.
In Survival games races are played in rounds and the last one standing scores a point. In a Knockout match, points are scored for each destroyed opponent and this game mode too is played in rounds. The Endurance game mode is similar, but there defeated racers respawn right away and it is not based on rounds. Leader matches are chaotic games where only the leader scores. When the leader gets ahead of the pack that racer steals points for everyone else's knockouts. Controls consist of acceleration, braking and moving left and right. It is also possible to reverse. There is a jump button and it is also used to drift through corners. After picking up a power-up, it can be activated or be absorbed (restoring health). The absorption key is also used to drop the power-up or to activate a shield. A shield is available at all times and blocks weapons and force impact, but while a shield is activated it is not possible to accelerate or brake.
Power-ups can be picked up regularly. They include mines, a machine gun, a dangerous trail, homing and quick rockets, using electricity, a gravity push, and flames on the side of the vehicle. There is an offline single-player Career mode where only the character Sarge is available. The player races against bots and earns bombs to unlock new challenges and tracks. The Versus mode is the multiplayer mode with sixteen different characters to choose from. There is a drop-in-drop-out system to join. In additional to gamepads, the game supports controllers such as laptops, tablets and smartphones to use as controllers to join the game, using a local Wi-Fi connection. In round-based game modes the defeated players can lock cross-hairs on the remaining racers to call in airstrikes, influencing the game even when defeated.
