Omar Sharif Bridge
Description
Omar Sharif Bridge is a program that allows players to both learn bridge and play it.
The game consists of two separate parts, the Omar Sharif Bridge Tutorial and Omar Sharif Bridge in which the game is played.
The tutorial opens in a separate window. It shows the player a dealt hand and shows how the hand is evaluated, how the bidding should proceed, how the hand should be played, and what the final result would be. The player can view their hand in isolation and/or view all hands.
The bridge playing game allows the player to customise the bidding according to their own preferences. It caters for three bidding systems Acol, 5 Card Majors and Standard American at both beginner and expert levels most major conventions such as weak/strong two openings, Flint, Stayman, Cue Bidding, Gerber etc are catered for but Blackwood, a way of communicating the number of aces and kings in a hand, is not among them. Players can create their own bidding variations
As the hand is bid a voice, presumably Omar Sharif's, can be heard announcing the bids and the final contract.
This game can be played by 1-4 human players.
The game is played entirely with the mouse in a window. It has in-game music, a choice of card back and table backgrounds and some speech.
