Hellgate: London FPS

Hellgate: London FPS is a free-to-play first-person shooter played exclusively from static positions without movement. It is based on different games in the Hellgate franchise, starting with Hellgate: London in 2007. It takes place in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic London where Earth is invaded through Hellgate portals. Fighting in different locations in London the player's character is a soldier who resists the invasion. There are different areas split up in multiple levels, often with short story sequences.

Each level consists of about five static scenes with some automatic movement to move to the next one. While moving no interaction is possible, including firing. From such a static position the player only needs to aim and shoot. For each level up to three stars can be earned by completing objectives. Sometimes a specific area needs to be defended or destroyed, enemies need to be killed and there are boss fights. Rewards include experience to level up, the basic currency money and dog tags. There is also an energy/stamina system that needs waiting time or a refill through currencies to keep playing levels. The premium currency of gems is used to buy single-use buff items before starting a mission.

Up to two guns can be carried and swapped on the fly. These include pistols, machineguns, sniper rifles and so on. They have to be reloaded when the clip is empty. Head shots are rewarded and there are often power-ups in the environment, such as exploding barrels, bombs or items that freeze enemies temporarily. Gradually and by spending money the player can buy armor and learn active and passive skills. These can also be upgraded several times. Active skills are additional abilities with a cooldown period. They include a shock wave, a devil's spear, a cold wave or summoning creatures. Passive skills mostly affect statistics such as stamina, health, precision, accuracy, regeneration or a time rift. Several types of weapons are found by completing missions and these can be upgraded several times. Next to the main missions there are challenge missions known as Challenge Hellrift.
