Description
Orion is a shareware, sci-fi themed, strategy game for two to four players; there is no single player option nor is there an AI opponent in this game.
This is a turn based game which has some gameplay similarities with Othello and Go. The players start with a base in the game area and take turns to put aliens / tokens onto the game board. A token can only be placed adjacent to a player's existing token, diagonals count as being adjacent, so there's a period of expansion until the player's tokens meet. when they do meet up however a player can capture another player's token by putting three of their own tokens around it, the captured piece changes colour and this may lead to further pieces being captured.
The shareware version comes with three game areas, called galaxies in the game, while the registered version has a larger play area, more galaxies and a level designer.
